Getting Started
This program is meant to be extremely intuitive
to use, with enough features to get the job done quickly and easily...
1. Open your favorite audio player.
ie (WinAmp) and start playing something.
2. Open MP3MyMP3, within the recording
section click on the "Device..." button to select the
audio source you wish to record from. (Choose Stereo Mix or Wave
mix, this will record all audio through your sound card.) See
below for Vista device selection.
3. The combination of the settings below ultimately
determines the overall recording input level. Fine tune your recording
levels so that the meter on the right just hits the bottom of the
red zone at the loudest point of the audio you are recording.
a) Player audio level
b) Master Volume Level
c) Recording Volume Level
d) MP3MyMP3 application volume (Vista only, see Vista Mixer below)
4. Check the options section to
ensure all options are set to your liking.
5. Click the Record button.
6. Click Stop when you're ready to end the recording.
Thats it!
Selecting a device under Vista
If you are running windows vista you must manually
set the recording device and restart the program.
1. To begin RIGHT click on the
Vista speaker icon in the lower right corner of your desktop.
2. The following menu will pop
up, now LEFT click on "Recording Devices".

2. The system sound panel will
now open with the recording tab selected. RIGHT click any item on
this screen to show the following menu popup below. You want to
make sure "Show disabled Devices" and Show Disconnected
Devices are checked. Vista has a habit of hiding the "Stereo
Mix"/"Wave Out Mix " device options. (This is used
to record what you hear).
RIGHT click on the device you wish to use and LEFT
click "Set as Default Device" , click apply then OK.
Attention: You must restart MP3MyMP3 after setting
the default device (Vista Only).

Windows Sound Mixers
XP Mixer
Volume settings can all be set from within MP3MyMP3
(XP) so you may only need to open if you wish to mute unused sound
sources to achieve a higher quality recording... ie. mute microphone
when recording from wave source.
Double click on the speaker icon to show the Volume
Control Mixer below
Click on options and select properties to get the
Recording Mixer Below.
The Recording Control window below allows you to
select and set the recording level
for various sound sources.
Device selection and recording
volume settings can all be set from within MP3MyMP3 (XP) so it is
not really needed.

Vista Mixer
To begin RIGHT click on the Vista speaker icon
in the lower right corner of your desktop,
then LEFT click on "Open Volume Mixer".

In Vista the Volume mixer is different
as it displays a volume control for Speakers, Applications, as well
as a volume control for each open application such as MP3MyMP3.
This also has an effect on your recording level.

Tips
Laptop Loudness
When recording using certain laptops
you may find you must have the master volume at full to achieve
decent recording levels. This can be very irritating as the music
may be very loud through the laptop speakers which are associated
with the Master Volume setting. To avoid blasting loud music while
recording simply plug in a pair of headphones.
Just Doesn't work
Depending upon the sound card and various other
system properties the program simply may or may not work. For example some
dell machines simply have Stereo or Wave out mix disabled in hardware. For more
info on Dell issues click

We sincerely
apologize to anyone who has spent their valuable time to install
and try out this program only to find it will not work with their
